Smooth from start to finish. I visited on 10/5/24 to celebrate my birthday. There were 20 in my party and I'm telling you I have never had service so smooth. We ordered several appetizers including Bang-Bang Cauliflower, wings, calamari and Brussel sprouts - all of them were delicious. Our entrees were Cajun shrimp Alfredo, wings, seafood platter and whiting. Mac/cheese, cabbage, mashed potato and potato salad sides: everything came out hot and fresh. The seasoning is on point - not too much salt and not too little flavor. Our waitress was Sydney and she was TOP NOTCH She didn't forget one request and kept drinks filled. She had support from other staff and we all enjoyed our food and the ambiance. Talking and eating too much to take many pictures.

Hands Down, one of our favorite places!!! My wife and I literally try to find an excuse to go!! The music is always a vibe, the service is always nice, and better yet, the food is ALWAYS good!!! We have a fantastic time, each time we visit. We love the fact that we don't have to question if the food will be good or not because we know that consistency is the heartbeat of Della J's. We also appreciate the Black History Figures that are attached to some of the seating (i.e., booths). The food is always good (10/10) and we haven't had a bad experience yet. Della J's is always the place we loving bringing our family and friends to! We will certainly be back! Our favorite dishes are in the pictures, but their beverages be good too! That lemonade & Arnold Palmer is -- LIKE THAT!

Cornbread 10/10 Egg rolls 4/10 Pasta 9/10 I sent the seafood plate back because it was bland . Not much seasoning . It looked amazing but it didn't taste as good as it looked

I've been here a lot of times and love coming here. I'm gonna be honest this time the food wasn't as flavorful/ tasty as It usually is so I was a little disappointed but still giving a high rating as it is usually amazing. I love the atmosphere here and everyone is so nice. I will say I prefer some servers over others as when I get one in particular she tends to not check on her tables very often at all even when it is not busy so you can end up sitting for 20-30 mins and need something and get no help so that doesn't help the experience that is usually great. I'd still recommend you eat here as it's a nice place to eat and be.

This place is excellent and I always get great service. I came here Sunday with friends after a convention in DC and we were craving some tasty food on Della Js could offer. The crabcake sandwich was lumpy and not wet or to breadcrumby which is nice, no filler. My friends got the fried wings and the other friend baked both juicy and delicious. The fried chicken was great light flavor and delicious with hotsauce ;). The baked bbq chicken was great too and the BBQ spot on. The greens, mav and fries all great. Shout out to our serve Johnathan. He really took care of us and made sure our water was always filled. There was a time he brought a glass to the table, and we didn't even know he had taken the empty glass. He has great recommendations and was just a good dude all around. 10/10;would want him to serve us again.

Stopped into Della J's for lunch. The place was not very crowded at all. There is plenty of seating in the restaurant where you don't feel like you are sitting close to another table. I got seated near the bar area. The bar tender seemed to be waiting on most of the tables. He was very friendly and added a pleasant touch to my visit. I ordered from the lunch specials menu. Open faced turkey sandwich and a side of mac and cheese. The sandwich was great. I just wish it was a little bit hotter. It was almost as if the sandwich say a little longer before it was brought to my table. The Mac and cheese came out very hot. The Mac was seasoned well. I also ordered the peach cobbler for dessert. The peach cobbler was delicious and the perfect way to end the meal. I did notice it was served warm, but there was some inconsistency with the temp as I was eating the cobbler. I would come back to check out other menu items.

Me, my friend, and my niece were famished after a local Goodwill Meetup, so we decided to check out this new-to-us spot. Here's what I had: FRENCH TOAST APPLE WOOD SMOKED BACON HOME FRIES Also pictured: My niece's random MACARONI AND CHEESE order because she thinks this is a side dish for EVERY meal, lol The food, price points, and service were all reasonable. For some reason I always forget about Della's and. Stopped here one Saturday afternoon. I got the Fried catfish with collard greens and potato salad. It was delicious. The fish wasn't overly salty. For the drink I got the old fashioned. That was delicious as well. I need to keep Della Js in the rotation.

Ambiance: 4/5 Service: 5/5 Food:3/5 Happy hour drinks:5/5 The customer service was superb and the drinks were excellent! This place is perfect for meeting with family and friends over a meal or few drinks.

Food 5/5 Service 5/5 Ambiance 5/5 for a mid priced family restaurant Della Js is a soul food restaurant in Alexandria VA. The restaurant is clean and modern. The food was delicious and a reasonably sized for the price. The menu also was soul food focused but pretty diverse including appetizers, entrees, soul desserts, and drinks. The clientele were mixed races and picked up food as well as dined in. The wait staff were all uniformed, pleasant, informed, and made us want to come back. We visited for my birthday had a great dinner with dessert.
